Missing a single day is completely normal and will not invalidate your participation. Here is what to do:
- Continue wearing your Oura Ring — it will still collect sleep data automatically
- Fill in your Daily Notes the next day, noting that you missed the previous day
- If you miss 3 or more consecutive days, please contact the research team so we can adjust your study timeline
Your data is still valuable even with occasional gaps.
During the Baseline Week, please maintain your normal supplement routine without changes — this helps us establish your baseline.
During the Supplementation Phase:
- Continue any prescription medications as directed by your doctor
- Avoid starting new sleep-related supplements (melatonin, magnesium, GABA, etc.)
- Multivitamins and non-sleep-related supplements are generally fine
- If unsure about a specific supplement, contact Dr. Sarah Chen before taking it
Your safety is our top priority. If you experience any side effects:
- Mild effects (slight drowsiness, vivid dreams): Note them in your Daily Notes and continue the study
- Moderate effects (headache, nausea, insomnia): Stop taking the supplement and contact the research team within 24 hours using the Report an Issue form below
- Severe effects (allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, chest pain): Call 911 immediately, then contact our study medical team at (503) 555-0199
All adverse events are documented and reviewed by our medical team.
Results are shared at two points during the study:
- Personal sleep report: Available within 1 week of completing the study, showing your individual before/after sleep metrics
- Aggregated study results: Published after all participants complete the study (estimated Q3 2026), with de-identified group findings
You will receive an email notification when your personal report is ready to view.
